Bigger, Bolder, and More Vibrant: The Expanded Greenlandic Area Becomes a Standout Hub at DanFish

For the past three days, visitors have stepped into a world of Arctic wonder — indulging their senses with everything from thrilling virtual dog sled rides and captivating historical narratives to unforgettable, authentic Greenlandic delicacies. This year, the Greenlandic area at DanFish was significantly expanded, offering a richer, more immersive experience than ever before.

Greenland combines proud tradition with cutting-edge innovation in a truly remarkable way. That compelling blend is at the heart of the Greenlandic space at DanFish, where visitors have witnessed culture, history, and future-facing technologies merge into a single, cohesive experience. The goal was to give visitors at DanFish a deep and authentic encounter with Greenland — something they could see, taste, and feel. And judging by the enthusiastic reception, that goal was met.

A Visionary and Social Focal Point
We spoke with Bendt Kristiansen, Head of Business at Avannaata Kommunia, about his impressions of the expanded Greenlandic area at the fair.

– I’m really pleased with it. It’s a great concept, and the way it’s been visualized has made it easier for visitors to find. The larger space has created a better overall experience — people have been exploring and engaging,” says Bendt Kristiansen.

Over the past three days, the Greenlandic area has become a natural gathering point at the exhibition. Greenlandic visitors have also used the space as a spot to take a break or connect with fellow Greenlandic stakeholders. It has been a place where relationships have grown, and where both Greenlandic and international guests have found inspiration and a sense of community amid the busy pace of the fair.

A Bridge Between Knowledge and Opportunity
The area was developed in close collaboration with Greenlandic partners and was designed to function as a meeting space for knowledge-sharing and networking. For participants like Bendt Kristiansen, DanFish has been about more than just showcasing products — it’s also been about gathering insights and connections on behalf of those who couldn’t attend in person.

– We can return to Greenland with new insights, new contacts, and possibly new tools that we can share back home,” says Kristiansen.

And from there, the real journey begins — where these experiences are translated into action and innovation that can help strengthen both people and industries in Greenland.
